Ramblers Start slow but still win comfortably over Cedarville 

The Boyne Boy's Varsity Basketball team welcomed the Cedarville Trojans for the second part of a double header, which tipped at 7 on January 7. Cedarville came into the game with a record of 2-3. Boyne looked to continue on their 3-0 record. 

The Ramblers got off to a slow start in the first quarter, as they found themselves down 15-12 to the Trojans. The Ramblers had five players contribute in the first quarter, led by Max Vondra , Pete Calcaterra  and Aiden Brehm, who each had three points. The Ramblers got rolling in the second quarter, as they scored 23 points and were able to hold the Trojans to eight. The Ramblers led at the break 35- 23. Calcaterra continued to led the Ramblers with six of his nine first half points in the second quarter. 

The Ramblers would come out of the break with the same intensity, as they put up 23 more points in the third. This would help the Ramblers stretch their lead to 58-31. The third quarter saw seven different Ramblers score, but this time it was Aaron Bess and Calcaterra leading the way with six points each. The third quarter saw the Ramblers go perfect from the free throw line, as Bess and Calcaterra each went 2-2 from the stripe. The Ramblers would rest some of their starters and let others get some playing time in the fourth. It payed off, as Harry Moody would lead the charge in the fourth quarter. Moody contributed four points to the 14 point fourth quarter total. The Ramblers were able to knock off Cedarville by a final score of 72-53. The Ramblers had three scorers in double figures, as Vondra (10 pts), Brehm (11 pts) and Calcaterra (17 pts) led the way. 

The win moves the Ramblers to 4-0 on the season. The lose moves Cedarville to 2-4 on the year. The Ramblers will turn their focus to Traverse City St. Francis. The Ramblers will travel to take on the Gladiators on Friday, January 10, in Traverse City as part of a Varsity double header. The Girls Varsity tip is set for 5:30 and the Boys game will follow, scheduled for 7.
