Harbor Springs came out strong in the third quarter as they outscored the Ramblers 15-8 in the third quarter and took a 46-39 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, Jacob Steinhoff took over and helped lead the charge back. Steinhoff would score 14 out of 20 total points in the fourth quarter. The Ramblers would be able to turn a seven point deficit and turn it into a 10 point victory. Steinhoff solidified the win by going 8-8 from the free throw line down the stretch. The Ramblers would have nine different players contribute in the scoring column. They were lead by two players in double figures as Steinhoff had 20 and Calcaterra had 11.
From Coach Redman: I am proud of team resiliency tonight finding a way to win on the road. Credit Harbor, they played hard tonight. They really outrebounded us in the first half, but we stepped up in the 4th when we needed it. Jakob Stienhoff was huge in the fourth quarter. Our bench was big for us again tonight giving us key minutes, especially with guys in foul trouble. Brady Butka stepped up off the bench and gave us a lift, Pete (Calcaterra) showed some toughness fighting through sickness, Max (Vondra) kept us in it making plays throughout the game. Stephen Orban and Devon Hayden played really well in a great team effort as well.
The win moves the Boy's Varsity team to 8-2 (4-2 LMC ) this year and now three wins in a row. They will host Kalkaska on Friday, January 31. They are scheduled to tip at 7 , as part of a Varsity double header.
