The Boyne City Rambler Wrestlers had a busy weekend, with two major tournaments. On Saturday, February 1, the team competed at the Gaylord Northern Michigan Championships. Over forty teams were in attendance. Senior A.J. South (119 lbs) was the only medal placer on the day in fourth place. On Sunday, February 2, Senior Bizzy Turnbull (wrestling at 138 lbs) and Sophomore Lydia Krauss (145 lbs) wrestled in the second annual Girls’ State Wrestling Championship, held at Adrian College. Both girls wrestled in impressive fashion all day against the best female wrestlers in the state, and both took home All-State honors: Bizzy with a 3rd place finish, and Lydia with a 4th place. The Ramblers will be together again as a team for the Lake Michigan Conference Championships held at Charlevoix High School on February 8th.
