From Coach Slate:

Boyne City pulls out a dramatic 5 set thriller against visiting Cheboygan.

Set one and two went back and forth with some great rallies and defense from both teams with Cheboygan pulling out the win 21-25 in set two and Boyne taking set two 25-22.

Set three neither team was ready to give up but after a 59 minute battle Boyne was the one that was able to be victorious winning 35-33. 

In set four Boyne completely fell apart defensively and Cheboygan definitely wasn't ready to give up. By the time Boyne started to rally back it was just too late, losing set four 16-25. 

Much like set three, both teams came to play in set five. Boyne started out on a 4-0 run but Cheboygan was able to rally back and tie things up. Boyne took a time out at 13-13 and came out firing on all cylinders after that timeout and took set five 15-13 after a long 2 hours and 28 minutes of play.

"WOW! what a match to officially kick off our home opener! Both teams came ready to play and it was a fun match to watch. Finally my girls were able to come together and pull out the win in some very stressful sets. The leadership from Grace Dawson and Maggee Behling finally came through tonight and they did a fantastic job leading the girls on the court. Grace was just about unstoppable at the net and wasn't afraid to swing which really helped us out. I was proud of how they pulled together as a team and were able to pull out a big much needed win to help boost there confidence."- Coach Mallory Slate
