The Boy's and Girl's Cross Country teams traveled to East Jordan on September 2 for the East Jordan LMC Jamboree. The meet had six teams competing with the Boy's race running first.

Senior Gavin Carson jumped out the race lead early on and held onto the lead pack through the first mile. Carson then settled in as the group spread out and was able to claim a new personal record; as he finished in 17:51 and in sixth place. The Ramblers then had two teammates finish together as Kolton Stadt (Junior)  would finish in ninth place with a time of 18:29 and Will Maginity ( Senior) in 10 place with a time of 18:32. Sophomore Jack Neer would be the fourth Rambler to cross in 24 place and a time of 20:03. Neer who was new to cross country ran a really stong race and had an even stronger finish, passing one competitor and holding off another coming to the line. Freshman Liam Dart, would round out the scoring for the Ramblers coming acrossed in 21:14 and in 34 place. The rest of the Ramblers would finish as follows:

Paxton Giem ( Junior) - 53 - 23:53

Sophomore Ava Maginity controlled the Girl's race, essentially from the start. Maginity jumped out to the race lead early on and never looked back. She would win the race with a time of 20:38, almost a full minute over anyone else. Newcomers Reagan Woodall (Sophomore) and Rachel Clausen ( Sophomore) were big surprises and provided to be a difference maker. Woodall would come cross second for the team in 22:42 and in fifth place. The Ramblers would have a pack of girls come to the line seperated by less than 50 seconds. Taylor Noble ( Senior ) would cross third for the team in 22:59 and in seventh place. Lydia Frasz would follow right behind in eighth place with a time of 23:14. Then Clausen would round of scoring for the team as she was the fifth runner to cross the line in ninth place, with a time of 23:47. The rest of the Ramblers would finish as follows :

Jaelyn Jerema ( Senior) - 12 - 24:05

Megan Harmeling ( Senior) - 22 - 27:02

Kari Day ( Senior) - 25 - 28:24

Emilee Fisher ( Freshman ) - 26 - 29:37

Madison Mathers ( Freshman) - 34 - 36:26

"In the team results from the meet, the Boy's took home third place with at total of 80 points. While the Girl's team would win the meet with a total of 30 points, six points ahead of second place team Charlevoix. "

"Sophomores Reagan Woodall and Rachel Clausen had great races, making big contributions as brand-new runners, and we had several veteran runners work through some pain to help out our team. It was awesome to see groups of runners work together to move up and finish strong."

"This was an exciting start to the season, and we are just grateful to be able to have a season at this point. We learned a lot today and have some things to build on moving forward. Each race is a gift this year, and we plan to make the most of each one."

Boyne City's next meet is home at Boyne Mountain for another Lake Michigan Conference jamboree on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
